- Methuselah Foundation announces new Mprize competitor: Alan Cash joins the challenge to extend the lives of mice

The Methuselah Foundation is pleased to announce a new Mprize competitor: Mrs. Elise Sacane, co-founder of Neural Learning Systems of Tucson, Arizona and a retired science teacher. The Mprize, a scientific research prize aimed at encouraging scientists to find a way to reverse the aging process, is a primary activity of the Methuselah Foundation. The Mprize fund continues to grow and currently stands at close to $4.5 Million. Prizes will be awarded to research groups that can most successfully extend the life span of laboratory mice.
Methuselah Foundation appoints Development Officer-
Lorton, Virginia - The Methuselah Foundation has appointed Allison Taguchi as its Development Officer, responsible for structuring and executing its fundraising efforts. Allison has over 12 years of fundraising and business development experience at research institutes, universities, government agencies, think tanks, and non-governmental organizations. Examples include: Rushford Nanotech Laboratory, Department of Defense, Oakland Military Institute, and University of Hawaii Biotech Research Center.

Cambridge, England - The Methuselah Foundation has awarded biochemist Mark Hamalainen an annual grant of $70,000 to conduct “MitoSENS” anti-aging research as a Ph.D. student at the University of Cambridge. Under the auspices of the British Government’s Medical Research Council, at its Dunn Human Nutrition Unit, Hamalainen will investigate methods for obviating damage suffered by mitochondrial DNA, a major source of many of the debilities of aging.
