What's it worth to you to live 150 healthy years?
What's it worth to you to raise the average human life span to 150 years, just for a starter? These are not idle questions.
The Work
Scientists collaborating with the Methuselah Foundation are working on the problem, and every one of them believes that the near future promises interventions that will extend both the quality and quantity of human life span.
Well within your life span. Your current life span.

Longevity Prize
Record Holder
Some of these researchers are competing for a prize offered by the Foundation to spur innovation in true regenerative medicine while others are working directly with us on some pressing and negelected aspects of repairing the damage of age-related dysfunction.
The Methuselah Mouse Prize, offered by The Methuselah Foundation, is in the tradition of the great scientific prizes of the past, the prizes that inspired the invention of the chronograph, Lindbergh's flight, reaching the North Pole and many other of great feats of exploration and discovery
The Methuselah Foundation has already raised MILLIONS OF DOLLARS for this prize and for specific Foundation directed research, but this is only the beginning. The pace we have set is brisk. With support from all corners of the globe it underlines how important and universal this endeavor is.
The Need
Make no mistake: this is an urgent task. every minute of everyday people are suffering the consequences of age-related disease. Ill-health, loss of function and shortened life span inflicted by the aging process are likely affecting someone who you love or care about. This sad state will continue, eventually to ourselves and our children and grandchildren until we win this battle... and a battle it is, beginning with our own perception of aging.
At no other time in human history has there been the possibility of a real science based option to aging. At no other time have we had the tools to apply the same intelligence to our biology that has allowed us to walk in space and will help us move into the future. We have those tools now. The proof of principle that validates the hope of an option to aging, exists.
Five thousand years ago, such a hope would have relied on divine intervention. Five hundred years ago, it might have been the promise of alchemy. But today, scientists have more than just tantalizing clues, they are close to knowing the causes of aging and they are on the verge of knowing not only how to stop them, but to reverse them to lengthen life by extending people's best years, not their declining ones.
Our fund-raising experience has convinced us that when given the option, there are thousands of individuals and organizations who will be willing to choose life over money. So we decided something special was in order.
That's where you come in.
We're looking for a few special individuals and organizations to make a meaningful, but affordable commitment: $1,000 a year, for 25 years, which amounts to $85 a month or $2.75 a day, the equivalent of one visit to Starbucks.
Now 25 years is a long stretch and you might be thinking that many things can occur in 25 years, after all, the fight against aging has not yet been won. The possibility exists that there will be some of The Three Hundred who will be unable to see through their commitment for any variety of reasons. For these few we simply accept the benefit of their contributions. Arrangements could be made that their commitment could continue should they so wish it, even if they themselves, a fallen comrade in arms, were unable.
Our model is a classical one. It's based on another battle that saved the future of Western Civilization: Thermopylae. In 480 B.C., 300 Spartan warriors fought against incredible odds, so that the rest of Greece could mobilize against Darius's Persian hordes. Without their delaying action at the narrow pass of Thermopylae, the achievements of Greece and our culture as we know it would have been swept away.

- The Battle of Thermopylae
The Methuselah Foundation is asking you to follow in the footsteps of this noble Three Hundred, not to risk your lives, but to provide some of your treasure, so that others may live and live and live, so that the human species can beat back not just an army, but the Grim Reaper himself.
This special group - strictly limited to 300 individuals or organizations, will live on in history just as the original 300 have, even to this day. You can be one of them.
The names of the 300 Spartans who died at Thermopylae were engraved on a stone tablet in Sparta that was still legible seven centuries after the event and a momument stands to this day to pay homage to their sacrifice. We are asking you to lend your name to this enterprise, and be remembered for as long as the race survives. We are asking you to participate in one of the most historic moments in human history, the moment when we overcome the final barrier.
